We are sad to share the passing of former FYCA board member and friend Roberta Stevenson. Her contribution to local history is highlighted in the current edition of The Archives Ledger.

Roberta B. Stevenson: July 8, 1919 — Sept. 30, 2019

Roberta B. Stevenson, a longtime resident of Davis, CA, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on Sept. 30, 2019, in Chandler, Ariz.

She was born in Rochester, PA, on July 8, 1919, daughter of the late James and Ora Stevenson. She is survived by five nephews and one niece, in addition to many great-nephews and -nieces.

Roberta graduated with her master’s degree from UC Berkeley in 1955. She went on to have a very successful career at UC Davis for 31 years until her retirement.

Roberta was an active member in many organizations. She was with the Friends of the Library, The Hattie Weber Museum of Davis, The Davis Historical Society, Yolo Archives and the Genealogy Club.

Roberta will be greatly missed by her family and friends as she was a ray of sunshine. She was exuberant, intelligent and fiercely independent. She was an inspiration to all the family on how to live on her own terms.

Last Board Meeting

After many years, Ted Smith and Roberta Stevenson retired from the FYCA Board at the Board Meeting on May 4, 2017. Ted has served as president and newsletter editor. Roberta has served as secretary. We thank you and salute you!
