Youth Outreach

The Friends of the Yolo County Archives supports projects that engage and connect young Yolo County residents with our local history. Through partnerships with schools and youth organizations such as the Boys Scouts and 4-H, we seek to educate our youngest residents through service and learning projects aimed at heightening historical awareness and civic pride in our cities, towns, and county.

Projects, past and in progress, have included an essay writing competition for high school students, a transcription exercise for fifth graders using primary county documents, and outreach support by local Boy Scouts at the County Fair.
